Accidents

A pregnant woman crashes, and her car flipped upside down in a creek. Rescuers found her not breathing — her head under water.

But as Kelly McPherson reports she and her unborn baby are alive. It’s an incredible story of survival.

The accident in a Prince George’s County ravine days ago should have killed the driver.

“Seeing those pictures, you look at them and it’s like, can somebody survive that? But I’m here, and I’m living,” said 23-year-old Sade Davis.

And she’s eight months pregnant. Paramedics found her without a pulse and not breathing at the crash scene Saturday morning. The unborn baby was clearly at risk.

“I didn’t think she was going to make it at all. It didn’t have a very good outcome at first,” said a firefighter.

Sade says she doesn’t remember the accident or the week prior. Her family says her car slipped on wet leaves and landed on a guardrail. Sade didn’t wake up until she was in the hospital.

“I opened up my eyes and saw the wristband and it said Jane Doe. And I was like, no, I’m not Jane Doe, I’m Sade Davis, I know who I am,” said Davis.

Thanks to rescue crews, both mom and the unborn baby boy were resuscitated at the scene and transported for treatment.

Amazingly, the EMTS prevented premature labor and saved Sade at the grimmest moment in her life.

“It was a miracle. God was in the right place at the right time and had all the crews ready to respond. It was just a blessing,” said Davis.

Her baby is expected to arrive as originally predicted the first week of December.
