A judge handed down the maximum traffic violation fines Wednesday to two people blamed in a fatal accident in Glen Burnie. Bobbi L. Steiner, 25, of Glen Burnie and Jason R. Fisher, 42, of Derwood, Montgomery County, were fined $500 each and ordered into a driver improvement program after Anne Arundel District Judge Jonas D. Legum found Steiner guilty of negligent driving and Fisher of negligent driving and not controlling his truck's speed.

Charges resulting from a Harford County Grand Jury indictment were served by State Police this morning on a driver involved in a crash last month in which three people were killed. The accused is identified as Travis N. Gray, 31, of the 3500-block of Day Road, Darlington, Md. He is charged with three counts each of vehicular manslaughter, negligent homicide while under the influence and negligent homicide while impaired. He is charged with one count each of driving while under the influence and driving while impaired.

An Earleville man was killed Friday morning in a single-car wreck just north of Summit Bridge in Delaware, according to police. Delaware State Police said 20-year-old Shawn Zimmerman was riding in the back seat of a 2008 Pontiac G6 that struck a median on the east side of Route 896 near Old Summit Bridge Road about 3:40 a.m.

Steven Dankos' life revolved around his family, his friends and, for the past three years, the River Hill High School football team. Those three groups made up the majority of the 1,500 mourners who packed St. Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church on Thursday for a touching tribute to the 17-year-old senior who was killed early Sunday.

A former River Hill High School football player is facing drunken-driving and vehicular-manslaughter charges after a crash early Sunday that killed a current player for the defending state champions and injured the team's captain. The accident came just two days after a loss that knocked the team out of the playoffs.

Witnesses reported seeing a white station wagon sitting idle on the driveway on pier 5, before suddenly accelerating and reversing into the water around 3:30 a.m. City fire spokesman Kevin Cartwright says the woman was already dead when when a dive team found the vehicle at the bottom of the harbor, shortly before 5 a.m.
