Woman Dies After Car Crashes Into Inner Harbor
From WJZ News:
Baltimore City Fire officials say a woman is dead after her vehicle crashed into the Inner Harbor early Saturday morning.
Witnesses reported seeing a white station wagon sitting idle on the driveway on pier 5, before suddenly accelerating and reversing into the water around 3:30 a.m.
City fire spokesman Kevin Cartwright says the woman was already dead when when a dive team found the vehicle at the bottom of the harbor, shortly before 5 a.m.
“Our dive team prepared its equipment, they descended approximately 20 feet about 30 feet from the pier, where they did confirm that there was a vehicle upside down in the Inner Harbor. The airbags had deployed. Further search of the vehicle showed an adult female who, unfortunately, had expired,” Cartwright said.
